Overall, definitely more of a party-type resort, Summer or Spring Break trip with the fellas or girlfriends, and a bachelor/bachelorette trip location (we saw several of these groups during our stay). For some people those may be small things – for me, it definitely had an impression. Two downsides to the resort which bothered me: 1) you had to pay for Wi-Fi (yes, seriously…so much for “All-Inclusive”) and 2) they make you pay for extra water outside them refiling your fridge daily. Next to it, there is Mandala & Cocobongo in case you go downtown multiple evenings. I would suggest The City nightclub as it was humongous and at an amazing atmosphere. But downtown Cancun is a short 15-minute ride from the resort and they have regular transfer pick-ups from the resort to downtown. Interested in nightlife? The overall scene at the hotel was okay – 3 different areas, one with live music, one with a show that turned into a dance floor, and then another lounge/club type, all on the resort. And from the looks of it, the experiences and the cuisine there was at another level of luxury. In addition, I would suggest staying at The Pyramid section of the resort, as you have access to 4 exclusive dining options that the rest of the resort is unable to eat at.
